We were inspired by the queen of France Marie Antoinette, the perfect woman who was also rebellious and loved the excess around her as much as the freedom which she was denied by her role. We were curious about the beautiful and romantic damasks which surrounded her, the abundance on the table and the details, the use of regal accessories rich in colour. Plates and glasses of the Imperial line by Villa d'Este Home seem to belong to the queen’s court, with their seventeenth-century style, lightened by sweet and light pastel tones.
What shades of blue do waves feed on? How many shades does a sunset run through before revealing itself to lovers? VdE reinterprets the poetics of colour with the Shades of collection. Through everyday objects such as plates, glasses and accessories, Shades of brings to the table colour palettes with a strong evocative power that have the task of telling all the nuances of the world. Can you smell the heady scent of lavender?
